Advancing put forward his case as a horse to follow when he accounted for 11 rivals in the Unibet More Extra Place Races Maiden Stakes over a mile at Kempton.
Ridden by Daniel Muscutt, and trained in Newmarket by James Ferguson, Advancing cruised to a one and a half length win over Godolphin’s Modern Day, the 10-11 favourite.
Muscutt had his mount in touch with the leaders, but just before the final furlong the pair cruised up to challenge and smoothly took the lead comfortably.
Advancing is a half brother to an Australian horse that won over 12 furlongs and a step up in distance is surely on the cards in the future.
“He is sound and well , he ate up all his food, and has come out of great, Ferguson told Kingsmoor.
“He won like a good horse and was very, very, professional during the race, finished off very strongly and I really think it is onwards and upwards from here. “He has a wonderful attitude and I’m really looking to the future from here.”
