SPARKSMITH (GB)
Sparksmith is bred to be a fast juvenile and that is exactly what he is shaping up to be.
The two-year-old was purchased at the Deauville Breeze-Up sale in May, where horses undergo a sprint, or breeze, to showcase their ability.
Sparksmith’s time was the 17th fastest in the sale out of 160 horses at the French seaside resort and has been impressing at every stage since he become a Kingsmoor Club horse.
He’s trained in Newmarket by James Ferguson, one of the brightest young talents based at the British home of the sport who won his first Group 1 race in just his second season when El Bodegon won the Criterium de Saint-Cloud.
Sparksmith ran beautifully on debut when finishing third in a maiden race at Lingfield in mid December. Ferguson is now looking for a second race in January.
Sparksmith is currently owned by the Uppingham Syndicate, a bespoke syndicate managed by Kingsmoor. Kingsmoor has acquired three shares in Sparksmith, for our members to enjoy. He runs in the colours of the Uppingham Thoroughbred Racing II syndicate.
